Leaving SE Asia behind means no more sleeping for 3E or eating for 1'5E, but at least no more mosquitoes, unbearable warmth, communication problems, lizards and rats running around the room or disorientated roosters shouting like mad at 2 am. Here in Australia you have carpet under your feet, hot showers, Simpsons double bill at 6 pm, crowded pubs to watch the FA Cup final... everything quite familiar, although I'm missing the daily challenges that Malaysia and Bali were offering around every corner.
In Sydney, as Jordi and Nuria are enjoying their privacy again in Cairns (I'm sorry lads, but it wonn't last for long), I've spent three great days walking around the city and chatting with the long-term guests of the hostel I'm staying in. And, of course taking plenty of pictures of the Opera House (another big cross in the must-see list!!) and of the Harbour Bridge. Tonight I'm heading off, I'll take a night bus to Byron Beach which is meant to be a laid-back beach village in the south of Brisbane. Maybe it's time to get acquainted with the surfing board, grow my hear and get some huge tattoos in my arms!! (I don't think so...)
Anyway, so far, good stuff with the Aussies!! See you soon!!
By the way, here is Autumn turning into Winter, nights are a bit chilly and it gets dark at 5.30 pm!!
